Arrogant Bastard Ale is probably what they are mostly known for and you may have even seen or tasted Stone IPA or Stone Smoked Porter, but that doesn’t give you even a glimpse of what these guys create. Another brew bot to miss are their Vertical Epic Ales. Released on the triplet date each year starting on 02/02/02, “each one is unique to its year of release”. Brewed to be cellared like wine, “they are designed to be aged and then opened in a vertical tasting, if you can wait that long.”
Celebrating their 13th anniversary in 2009, this company has come a long way in a short time. This is not a microbrewery in any sense of the word. This brewery is a master craft brewery at almost a macro scale. The number of different styles of beer are immense, and they are not standard styles.
We happened to fall in the front door for the first time on the first day of Winter Storm. What is Winter Storm you ask? Winter Storm is an event that lasts one week in late January where they pull out their beer archives dating back several years. It allows you to do vertical tastings of some of their popular brews from their anniversary ales to their barley wines, stouts and more. Some spectacular beers available for a short time. Even on the first day they were out of quite a few brews already.

Recommendations:
• Arrogant Bastard Ale - A bold ale not short on flavor and a healthy attitude. ABV 7.2%
• Stone IPA - An excellent textbook styled IPA. IBUs 77, ABV 6.9%
• Any and all Vertical Epic Ales are worth collecting.
• Go to the brewery and try a flight of beer tasters. There are a ton of unique brews I couldn’t try to describe for you.
• Stay for a movie in the garden.
